Liberty Choirs
Maeve O'Brien, Director of Liberty Choirs
For the 2025 - 2026 Academic Year, Liberty's Choirs are:
- High School: Ensemble Choir, Chamber Choir, and A Cappella Choir
- Middle School: Concert Choir and A Cappella Choir
Annual Auditions are Required for all Choirs
- Audition Date: High School - September 12 @ 11 am Middle School - September 12 @ 2 pm
- Reserve your Audition Timeslot on the Choir Audition Page after logging in to the Choir page on Blackboard
- Closed Solo Audition: Your Solo Audition will be closed to all others - even to parents & family members
- Your Audition will be no longer than 15 minutes
- Audition Requirements (No duets, trios, etc.):
- Come prepared to sing approx. 32 bars (1 minute) of a song of your choice
- You may sing an a cappella song, or
- If you sing a song with music accompaniment for your audition:
- Bring sheet music for piano (our Choir Director will play), or
- Bring a recording device loaded & ready with your karaoke music track
- Do not bring music with others singing on the track - Use a "Music Only" karaoke track
CHOIR EXPECTATIONS
- All Choir Students will commit to 3 Concerts per Year: Christmas, Spring, Baccalaureate Service for Graduates, and
- All Choir Students will provide the worship music on the last Sunday of each month during our Host Church Sunday Service
- Dress Rehearsals will be at 1 to 2 local retirement homes the week before each concert
- For All Liberty's Concerts: Choirs will rehearse and perform at least 1 song with the American Sign Language Students
- Rehearsals will be once per week and extra rehearsals will be scheduled before performances
- All performances will be off-book
- All music handouts must be returned to the Choir Director on the day of each concert
- Liberty's Concert/Performance Dress Code is Concert Black - or a Special Dress Code per the Choir Director's choice
- At all other Rehearsals, Liberty's Academy Dress Code will apply
